A Letter From Our Coordinator

Dear students,

Welcome to a new and exciting career. You have made an excellent choice. The PCT course, as you know it, was started in 1998, by Theresa Adderley who at that time saw a continuous need for a change agent that can multitask in the Bahamian health care environment. Since then, we have trained hundreds of PCTs who are now working in hospitals, clinics, doctor’s offices, and in private homes.

The mission of this programme is guided by the thought that if we can take our cars to certified mechanics, why we are entrusting our bodies and love ones to untrained persons. You are here just to do that, to fill the knowledge gap and provide safe health care to others who need it. We do encourage each of our students to pursue a career in nursing, as this is the ultimate goal.

The cost of the programme is $1000 inclusive of the PCT textbook. You can purchase a blood pressure cuff from EATC for an additional $50. At the time of registration, you are required to pay $350; the balance of $650 can be paid over the eight-week period. This method ensures your seat. Space is limited, however, you may pay a non-refundable $50 seat fee and the balance of $275 before the class starts.

Classes are held every Tuesday and Thursday from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM.
